Hello everyone.

I have recently purchased Mk2 house and I'm trying to gather as much technical information about the house as possible.

I wonder what type of the foundation it is on?I believe it is on top of a concrete slab however would like to get a second opinion.

Did anyone insulate that slab or the walls?

Is it even recommended to insulate the walls as it could cause corrosion?

How did you manage to support the new boards on the first floor? Have you added a noggins in between steel trusses to support chipboard/plywood flooring boards?

Did anyone calculated the strength of the trusses?

So many questions so far without the answer, i hope you'll help me to sort this out.

Thank you all in advance

Dawid

afternoon, i might be able to shed a little bit of light on your questions from owning a mk2 house for around 8 years now. (i am no expert on these just what i have found from referbing my own house) please find below answers to your questions that i have come across in my own property.

I wonder what type of the foundation it is on? concrete sub floor

Did anyone insulate that slab or the walls? slab from what i can tell isnt insulated, but the walls have a old insulation bag system that can breathe.

Is it even recommended to insulate the walls as it could cause corrosion? best insulation i know about it the EWI (external wall insulation) or internall wall insulation, both can be exspensive in there own right.

How did you manage to support the new boards on the first floor? Have you added a noggins in between steel trusses to support chipboard/plywood flooring boards? when i have looked in my cavities there is already noggins for the original plaster boad so they are fixed onto noggins.

Did anyone calculated the strength of the trusses? mine have never been calculated but i would like to think this was all done when constructed many years ago.
