Hi,
I'm currently in the process of purchasing a house and the surveyors recommended trying to figure out if the house is steel framed before purchasing and to have the condition of the steel frame assessed if so.
The house listing can be found here https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/70373321/
I've looked at the list of metal framed houses on this site and the only one that looks like it might be a match style wise form the outside is the Trusteel MKII Steel Framed House.
I also believe based on the first appearance of the house in electoral records that the property was built sometime between 1948 and 1950, which lines up with the construction years of the Trusteel houses.
Some images of metal construction within the roof are below but the query is whether the entire frame is metal or just these supports in the roof construction.
Does anybody have any ideas of ways I could try to confirm if it is steel framed without having an invasive survey done?
I also found a list of roads and house construction types on this site and it shows the road having some houses built with the Rational Archetype, but it is unclear to me what Rational means. Can anybody in the know explain this to me please?
