We're about to refurb and rejig our Trusteel Mk II bungalow. We bought it without having a survey (yes, doh) but now we're going to be knocking out some internal walls, stripping out kitchen and bathroom, I wondered if it was an opportunity to examine some if not all the steel stanchions (from within) for any signs of rust/failure? If we were to do this it has been suggested we bring in a building inspector for an appraisal on the structure and its soundness, or otherwise. Would this be a worthwhile procedure both for our peace of mind and also with a view to us selling on as and when?

Yes have an apprissal but not by a Building Inspector but by a Chartered Structural Enginner.
