Hi there,

looking to insulate and board out my loft in a 1950s steel framed house (red steels). As I can’t screw into the joists directly I wanted to lay timbers over the joists and kingspan foam in between(like a stud wall). Would this be ok? Do I need air gaps for the steels to breath. Any advise would be great!

Hi Sam, did you find an answer to this question? I’m have the same issue in a 1964 BISF house. I’m looking to insulate the loft but don’t want to compromise the structure. David.
