    Hi Barrie
    GoGreena use Permarock External wall insulation which is a very good quality and well proven product.
    Grants are available but there is a criteria that must be met for 100% funding.
    The only question I would have for GoGreener is. how many BISF Houses have you fitted with EWI and can I see an example?
    I wouldn’t want my house to be a test case. There are many similar companies springing up at the moment due to The Green Deal Scheme and Energy Companies Obligations.
    You are quite right to want to do your homework first. I would call the company direct and ask them what BISF experience they have.

      I have e-mailed them and asked the question ,I think they are going to ask the council if they can do all the BISF houses a lot of the tower blocks are being clad, I think it’s all free in this area.

    Saying this only due to having gutted my house but I would imagine most would choose to fit over the exsisting sheeting for numerous reasons;

    -Theres no real reason why not to
    -Less/no waste to dispose of
    -Far easier to fix to thinner steel sheets than it is Steel frames
    -Fixing points would/could be far more frequent

    Not saying thats all accurate or true but having started the refurb of my own place the idea of EWI really doesnt seem tough at all, and there would be no reason I would take off my steel sheets if I was to do it (not that I am as Ive done it internally).

    The company is Go Greena not sure what system they use just wanted to get as much info as possible before letting them do it. Some pictures of the process would be helpful if anyone has some.

    Hi Barrie
    Much depends on what system of EWI you have installed. Some companies choose to over clad the existing steel with a suitable board material which is then insulated and rendered whilst others choose to remove the steel cladding completely and then apply the insulation system.
    Have you got any one particular systm in mind?
